A new concept, for pets and characters alike

Why not allow characters to be "Dual Class"? This would allow not just the expenditure of 'points' to gain spells from another class, but allow the player to take his character through the game, starting as if beginning a new character, and then expand, at some arbitrary level, to being able to act in either school. Perhaps not, but if so, then we can have an entirely new 'set' of pets, such as a Fiery Life Dragon, With properties of both Fire school and Life school. Expensive and hard to find, these tiny Dragons can assist in both Fire, and Life school spells, with abilities not found in other pets. They can only be owned by those dual class characters whose schools match their own. An egg, from these creatures will only hatch for the appropriately trained wizard. Otherwise it remains an egg. Perhaps an Epic, or older, pet, if bred with one of another school, by the appropriate wizard, could hatch into a 'dual class' pet. This would add an entirely new facet to the game, and give those of high level something to strive for, reducing boredom and apathy for those players. It would also allow them to accrue vast sums of gold, to spend on the character as it advances in the new class. Since they already know the dungeons, and have much in the way of experience in playing, you could offer new quests, just for the 'dual classes' as they advance. Some of the unused buildings, on every world, would come in handy for this.
I realize that this would take an almost herculean effort, in the way of programming, but you guys are up to it, right?
