Which School Should I Pick?

So i have been playing wizard for bit, it's a fun game. A problem I have is I will make a character but after reaching anywhere from between level 5-20 (about) I delete the character because I felt it wasn't the one. I seriously have played Unicorn way like 100 times. I want to know what you guys honestly think about what school is for me. Here is some info to help you understand what might be good for me. Also any tips on how to not delete my characters and actually stick to one?

INFO:

- I play alone, no real life friends that play Wizard. I can find some in game, but I will be almost 99% solo leveling.
- I don't care about doing crazy damage, but it is annoying when my damage is far too low.
- I personally value accuracy a lot, so the higher the better. (Please don't recommend me storm!)
- I like utility spells, heals, stuns, just abilities with effects. I find spells that do nothing but damage to be boring.
- I like to feel useful when I play, like I know what I am doing is working and having a good effect.
- I haven't done much PvP, but it doesn't seem like my thing. In other MMO's such as WoW I enjoyed PvE the most!
- Honestly I feel most drawn to balance, but I am told it is best with friends. When I played a life character I hated it because though it felt amazing when I could heal others, that hardly happened. I fear it will happen with balance.
- Finally, please do use your experiences with your wizards and their respective schools, but keep in mind my preferences above any bias or sentiment you have attached to a certain school.

Thank you for reading this! Have a great day in the spiral!

Sigh I love storm..... lol. You should pick life or fire. Life is very good at surviving battles and good at soloing most of the game. Fire is strong like storm, but has more health and accuracy. I cannot recall the last time I died on either one of these.

Good Luck Wizard!

You can play any school solo, but some work much better with that style. Death will give you a very good experience for what you described.

Having mostly soloed a Balance to 110, I can say that this is a fun, versatile school. It takes some patience at times to solo with this school, and you'll certainly want to break at 60 and 100 to team up in Waterworks and Mistmoore (respectively) for the gear.

Well, I can tell you a school to pick, and a school that you should not pick. You should not pick because you start relying on everyone at a certain point. and then you don't think you need strategy because everyone is dragging you along. Then the result in this makes it very boring. It is not that life is bad, it is just you run out of cards. You should pick for just the opposite. Just is O.P when you use it right. Hope this helps you understand.

First of all, the Sun Decorations you made with your post is pretty cool. It adds a somewhat uniqueness to you and your posts haha.

Now, about your school of choice.
Well, if you're playing a school and not liking it, don't delete it next time, instead, just create a new character and try him out.

Balance is one of the most versatile school (as mentioned above) and also one of the most technical to play solo. Of course, in teams, the school is an excellent asset, but it's very good soloing too. The school has good health, decent damage, good accuracy (although you will fizzle more than 15% of the time) and decent damage when combined with proper Wards and Charms. Good starter School!

You said no so I'll rule that out, but it's still currently the most popular and arguably the most powerful school in terms of damage in the game.

Fire is also another well sought after school and decent pick. The school specializes in DOT Spells, (Damage Over Time) like Fire Elf which I'm sure you're well acquainted with by now. I love this school and many others do too. You won't suffer defeat much since the school's health is decent. But be aware of the fizzle rate though, second highest in the game.

Myth is up to you. I'm personally not a fan, but the school specializes in summoning minions to your aid, maybe you may like it.

Life , you already know.

Death is one you should try too and also

Let me know if you've any queries

All The Best!

I'll chime in my vote for balance. Yes, it can be very frustrating to solo sometimes. But with patience - and a bit of thinking creatively about your spells* - you can create very powerful combos. I agree that it is a very technical school, with a little bit of something from each of the other schools. You can look for gear / gems that improve your accuracy, which helps with the 15% fizzle rate. (Which isn't bad enough to be overly annoying.)

*One thing I highly recommend with a Balance wizard - many decks. IMO, this is not a school in which one deck can get you through each-and-every scenario. I have a "solo questing" deck, a "balance boss" deck, a "farming" deck, a "general team" deck, and a specific deck for when I quest with my real-life friend's death wizard. Every so often, I spend a bit of time re-optimizing the spells in each, to fit with my new areas/levels.

Next, I'd recommend life. If you build your life wizard for damage output, you can solo pretty much everywhere. This allows you to hit hard when you need to whilst still having the ability to heal yourself. There are patches of the game where you'll need patience because your damage output isn't quite as high as you'd wish, but those are minor lulls until the next spells come along. With creative play, I am finding my life wizard easier to solo than my balance.

Next, I recommend death, which I don't have, but I can tell from my friend's experience that is a very fun school and probably would meet your criteria.

Last, I think exploring myth is a viable option. My myth wizard is still a baby, but I'm having a blast with her so far.

Best of luck! And I agree - don't delete right off hand. Perhaps choose 3 or 4 schools, give them a whirl and see which on is "clicking" with you the most.

Myth:
Since you said that you play alone, the school of Myth is good for that. Myth can summon minions to help you in battle. Myth has 80% accuracy, which can be easily solved with accuracy jewels. Myth does decent damage. Not too high and not too little. Myth also gets Blinding Light ( http://www.wizard101central.com/wiki/Spell:Blinding_Light#axzz4TQjgPrID ) which stuns all enemies like you requested. Myth gets Humongofrog which can sweep all enemies with only 4 pips! (or nearly kill them). Myth gets Earthquake as well, which can help you by damaging and removing all your opponents blades, and shields. I have a Myth in Krokotopia. I don't have a ton of experience, but I love being a puppet master with minions. Also a way you can stick to your character is to have it as the only one on your account.

Good luck on your walkthrough of Wizard101!

I'm still a bit of a noob at Wizard101, but you can listen to what I have to say if you want :p
The only schools I have played properly are Ice and Myth. They're both good I guess. I progressed slowly with Myth though, partly because I only play part time, and I only use Crowns to buy stuff, and not memberships. Myth specialises with Minions (although I don't use them), and has some useful spells like Minotaur and Earthquake if used properly. These don't just do damage, so you might like them. Myth spells aren't as powerful as say, Fire or Storm though, so if you just want to do a lot of damage, I'd say choose Fire or Storm instead.
I've played Ice as well. I progressed a lot quicker than my Myth but that was due to a few other reasons than just being Ice.
I solo a lot with my Ice, much more than my Myth, and I finish battles pretty quickly. Ice specialises in stunning (i don't use stun spells much) and also shields, which I find useful. Tower Shields are great. Ice is not all that exciting though, and like Myth, doesn't do all that much damage.
Death is something I've just started trying recently. Death can do damage and heal all in one spell, so if you like that sort of stuff, go for it.
I can't really give all that much advice, but I hope this helps. Also, remember, with training points you can always buy spells from other schools. Its handy to have backup spells when you're facing an enemy from your school.
