Suggestion-Resisting and Boost Spells

Some of you may have noticed that when you use an say an ice spell on a fire monster, you will get a boost, making it do more damage than average. And when you would use a fire spell on that same monster, they 'resist' causing less damage. My question is, why doesn't this apply to wizards. I've had several instances where I could have been easily saved by resisting a spell. I just don't think it's fair, say you were an ice wizard, you use a ice spell on an ice monster, and they resist, giving maybe just 50-100 damage on a normally 300 damage spell. Then, they use an ice spell on you, and you take normal, which can sometimes be huge, damage. Please address this.
