I agree, the patrol path of the myth birds is a hazard to people who just want to farm Halfang. It should be changed. (One workaround I use is to simply log out while in the cave, rather than run out the door. This results in reappearing on the sigil itself, rather than a few steps removed of it, in the walkpath of the birds.)
I don't know what hole you're referring to though.
