Critical strike rating

With the current critical strike system, is it that the more rating you have, the less likely it is for an enemy to block? Or is the rating just for if you crit or not?

It used to work that way, which kept things interesting, but now it's a flat chance to crit and a flat chance to block. So if a boss or opponent has high block, there's really no point to critical. It's possible to block everything even if your crit is over 100%

It's just for if you critical or not.
Think of it as a dice roll.
You roll to see if you critical, if you get one, the opponent rolls to see if they block, based on their block percentage.

I believe that is how it was before. It was changed in the Polaris expansion, or the Summer update I forgot. Anyways, yes, the higher your critical rating, the higher you will crit. If you do crit, then the opponent will roll to see if they block, based on their block rating.

So no, it is not the higher your rating the higher chance they won't block.
