When you are in combat, to the left of your cards it will say "Cards # of #".
What does that mean? I couldn't find a reference to it in the player guide.

Thanks :)

The first number is how many cards you still have in your deck.
The second number is the maximum number of cards in your deck.

This lets you know when you're getting close to running out of cards.
When a player runs out of cards, they are defeated.

If you want the prize, you have to build the ladder rung by rung. There are no shortcuts.

The numbers include any treasure cards in your sideboard (it took me a while to figure that out!)

To be technically correct, I would say most likely they are defeated. The player may have cast a damage over time such as Fire Elf or Poison that is still in effect that might finish the monster off, or other players in the same battle might defeat the monster for the one out of cards.

Both very important clarifications, thank you!

I shouldn't post before coffee.
