I don't get hatching

I don't get hatching! When you hatch, do you get the pet you hatched and keep your pet you used to hatch with someone else? Thanks!

That's right. each player keeps his or her original pet, and gains an egg that will hatch as a new baby pet. It may look like either of the parents (in special cases something else) and usually has a mix of talents and stats from each parent.
