ok I will tell you how to get your talent not to be random. (again)

1.) Look at your pet and note the pets school.

2.) Feed your pet 2 Snacks from its school and 1 snack from Death school.
look at the the different snack areas: like Intellect, Agility
Do Not over feed pet to just level it up fast or you will end up with just the
basic talents.

3.) Take to the Maze game and select Cake
feed only 2 foods, high Only in areas Intellect and Agility (from pets school)
then toss in a death food for the third food.

4.) Take your baby pet to Unicorn way, use starter deck loaded with heals and sprites
( Can be Treasure Cards ) Realms Pixie or Unicorn.

5.) Battle this deck at least 3 battles with other wizards. (do not talk in battle)
Heal self and other wizards too.

6.) Repeat this till pet becomes teen.
Most if not all the pets fed and taught this way
will at least sprite by the time they are teens.

It takes time and work, but it will pay off.

If you have not written the training programs for pets and have not done this
with at least 2 of your pets, Please keep the "Pets are all random Talents"
comments to your selfs.

I have taught this to too many wizards and know it works.

Thanks, hope this helps those of you who want a healing pet.

This is not how pet talents work. Period. They're determined when the pet hatches. Nothing you do after the pet hatches can affect the talents (apart from the pet's stats increasing the effects of certain talents), least of all doing certain things in a battle.

Why post fairytales like this? Training and snacks have NO effect on talents. Talents are chosen at random AT HATCHING. This is readily proven with test realm training and has been shown over and over to be true. If you hatch a pet in real game, when test realm comes around you can train that pet in test. Whatever talents it gets in test are ALWAYS the same in real game, regardless of how they are trained or fed.

Please stop spreading superstition and mythical mumbo-jumbo about pets and training. The best way to ensure your pet's talents is by careful hatching and documenting the talents in your pet's genome. They always appear in the same order, so you can know what they are before they manifest.

You guys got this thing all wrong, to get a healing pet, you clearly have to input in the arrow keys:

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

This gives you a perfect healing pet with Spritely, Spell Proof, Unicorn and Spell Defy, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.

But this only works if before and after you stand up from your computer and do a circular dance praising the digital spirit of Moolinda Wu...

Seriously, though, as others before have said, the pet-training-superstition-mumbo-jumbo really needs to stop. There are good sources of info about how to hatch over time to develop good pets, but it takes time, and the traits are determined at the time of hatch so nothing one does after that affects the outcome at all. Go to Dualist101 on pets, go to the pet genome project, go to w101 central, and read up. Then take the time it takes, without the mumbo-jumbo...

If this were true then why does your pet always get the same talents they got in test realm? Regardless of what you feed them in test compared to live?

Are you even serious right now >.<

The pet talents are randomly selected through a pool of potential talents. (Some Bundle pets get auto spritely at teen but that is only on first gen)

If your so confident this works, do this with a generation one stray piggle (the one from the quest)
A pet without the talent in it's pool CANNOT receive said talent

If I follow your instructions with a red ghost pet, can you guarantee that it will get a healing talent? And when it doesn't, because the Red Ghost doesn't have any healing talents in their pool, will you reimburse me my snacks and energy?
