Maycast Pet Triggers

Does anyone know if there is a trigger to the maycast dragonlance spell on my pet? I got the maycast from a balance jewel that came with a 5% pip chance. I have it on a death pet until my balance pet gets to ancient. I want to know the trigger (if there is one) before I start using it on the proper wizard.

Maycasts are usually random, and if the pet gives a card, it sometimes casts the maycast after you cast the given card. There's not really a said 'trigger' for it.

The trigger is actually you successfully attacking the enemy.

It doesn't cast as often as how school blades do of course, but it does cast, only, it's incredibly rare.

I'm guessing this is to keep the talent on a 'sane' level so it doesn't become abused to how Spritely was when the talent just came out.

I believe the frequency of the talent occurring needs to be increased though. It almost seems like the pet doesn't even know/have the talent.
