i have the quest to defeat the otomo courier but i have one problem, can't make it to him without getting pulled into battle and getting defeated. does anyone know how to get to him without getting pulled into battle.
That's the point isn't it? If you enter a dungeon to "speak" to someone there's always a fight first. If you've been in there several times why didn't you talk to Otomo after the duel?

Since this is not a dungeon as the other answerer seemed to think, you have to be very careful. Stay on the grassy areas off the path where the courier is running. Be patient, and just jump on him when he zooms by. :) It's frustrating, but can be done!
