Almost as soon as you walk into mooshu, ( when you can go ) you get the jade oni instance. However, you have to retrieve the imperial majesty's sword to activate the obelisk to get the jade oni. If you want to fight oni earlier, keep doing the crimson fields, as the final boss is an oni.
If you've done all of the content except Kensington before reaching MooShu, you'll arrive at level 35 and finish at level 44. Naturally, if you skip a lot of content, you could be considerably lower level.
