Wild bolt bug/ change fix required

Can anyone explain to me how a storm with 175 damage 42 pierce vs a myth with 56 storm resist
gets hit with a pierce enchanted wild bolt(extraordinary) for 57 pierce open hit does 0 damage?

Can we finally get a change on this spell into a protected dot that basically last 5 rounds and increase in damage per tick starting from 250-1000?

Or just change the initial hit to 350, 550, 1050? with a 50% 30% 10% scaling on rng basis if ur planning on keeping it.

There is a separate stat from resistance that blocks a flat amount and is calculated after pierce. What likely happened is they had some of this stat and you rolled low on the damage of Wild Bolt. It's very easy to get 100 of this "defense" stat so you're likely looking at a 1/3 chance to actually damage that Myth.

I don't imagine a change would be made to this spell anytime soon as it's more meant for a low-pip shield popper/weakness remover instead of an easy access damage spell.
