This happened to me yesterday, LOL! I had Critical Striker, Ice Assailant, Ice Dealer & Ice Sniper. I was sooo excited for my Ice Wizard to have such a great pet and trained to Mega, only to end up with the Dogged talent.

There's not much we can do but bang our head down on the table and quietly weep.

PS: I'm still keeping the pet because four great talents out of five isn't bad.
