Unable to Collect Gems for "Get Some Bling"

I am able to see the gems and coast over them. But no success in picking them up. Thanks!

They aren't the ones in the sandy rooms, but out in the halls. Once you get near one, an interaction box comes up (as for reagents or treasure chests.)
