About 2 weeks ago I went to Great Spyre to get my Fire Ring. Then after a few times of farming i got tired and tried using the chest for Gurtok FireBender. There was something wrong though cause all the second chest did was keep giving me FireTusk Drops from Grand Chasm Past Instance. I spent 5,000 crowns for something I was hoping to get but was getting from another boss. I sent a reply to support but they didn't say anything back to me saying what I get for wasting 5,000 crowns for a bugged second chest. After wasting so much crowns for not getting the item I want I think i deserve the item.
Don't use the Second Chance Chest for the gurtok firebender cause its bugged everyone. You'll just be wasting your crowns.
The second chance chest is just like fighting the boss ... there is NO guarrantee that you will get what you want. The fact that you spent 5,000 crowns is your fault and not KI's.
I totally agree that they shouldn't have second chance chests anymore! I throwed in crowns at the one at the Death Oni and I mostly getting things my school couldn't have! :x. They should either give them better things or they got to go!
Why would you want them to go? I personally love using them if I want a bosses item or just fele lucky. It does not mean you HAVE to use them. KI worked hard on it but it is optional to players. Spending 5,000 crowns or 50 crowns doesn't matter it tell that you must spend crowns and a random item from that boss is gifted so it is the luck of the draw...

The Gurtoks chests are notorious for giving bad items. I gave up on throwing crowns in long ago. I had NEVER got ANY type level 50 ring from that chest, no matter what....so I no longer even try it. I mean it won't even give ones I don't want...lol. So your best bet really is to just keep farming there, eventually it will drop. It took me months to get my level 50 Storm ring for my first storm wizard(I have two Storm Grands,) but after much farming I finally got it, and then it gave me an extra later on too...lol. It really is all just luck, don't waste your crowns on those Gurtok chests.
Other chests are not so bad, sometimes I like to throw in once or twice just for fun, but I try not to do more than that. I don't think they should take the chests away, but they sure could improve the rates with the actual Gurtok drops items in those chests.
What I do not understand is why some low level chests, like I believe one is Krokopatra's chest, cost 75 crowns initially? I never throw in there because it costs more than other chests, and that dungeon is so easy I would rather replay it if I want something.
Speaking of Krokopatra's chest . . . Why do they put in items that are no trade? If you spend your valuable crowns you should be able to pass those items that are outside your school onto your shared bank so you can use it for another of your players. I just don't feel it's fair to take our money then give us something outside of our school that we can only sell for less gold in the bazaar. Let's have some sense of fairness when it comes to taking our crowns KI. :(
let me end your issue once and for all if u spent 5k crowns this is ur fault and will not get them back unless u purchase more because u willingly gave them up if u want an easier time every time u go through the instance only use 50 crowns ont he chest and get 1 extra item then finish and come back and repeat
All i can say is spending 5K crowns on a crummy chest like that is like selling your house to go to a casino and tring to get a jackpot on a machine thats riged to get just BAR.
