Grizzleheim is based on old Norse Mythology. During that time in history, the Norse (vikings) were a warrior culture. That is the reason Grizzleheim deals a lot with weapons. Also a small bit to remember, is that during those times, a blacksmith's job was VERY important, and most good blacksmiths were close to royalty in social standing.
