This has been posted many times - it is a solo fight. You can hire a henchman if you have crowns, but no one else can port in or go in with you. Buy some minion treasure cards at the Bazaar, maybe, and have plenty of fire shields.

He can be tough to get but hang in there and eventually you will. Took me 4 tries myself.

I fought him twice for fire bats and got two toy trains for my house. I like them.
