It does help. Those plants it helps, which you mouse over them, will have the "likes garden gnomes" text. But you only need one for your garden...all the plants that like it will benefit.

Well, if you have plants spread all over your land, you will need one for each area. Their range is rather small when compared to a homes plantable area.
