I dont get it

I have already beat mallistaire and i beat cl but when i fought mallistaire, there were other places in the dungeon that had nothing to do with anything, does anyone know what it is for or anything hidden there, i always wondered about it?

The Gurtok demons drop the best grandmaster (level 50) rings and athames. There's also an optional boss.

There is one boss, a rock cyclops and a man in there.The man may be used in a quest, but he just simpily stands there.
