When you find an area that yields a reagent you want and need do these things: 1. Note where you found them so you can go back later because you will need to find it again! 2. Pick up the reagents and switch realms, preferably to a normal or perfect realm with fewer reagent hunters, and follow your route again. 3. Hunt during off peak hours like during the day or at night on non-holidays.
