Aether is one of the most sought after reagents. The best suggestion I can make is to get the trasmute Kelp to Aether. Also remember that Kelp comes from Red Mandrake, and you can make Red Mandrake from Deep Mushroom and Mist Wood. Although this gets tiring. I mainly did a lot of reagent harvesting through the grotto. If you can't get there yourself, see if a friend will drop you off in there - and make sure you leave a marker!
