So I beat dragonspyre and got the celestia key at level 48. Then I got a quest from Halestrom Balestrom and now I need to do a quest to get another key. I don't like this and was wondering if there was a way around it.

You do not need to do this. This is optional. (I honestly wish KI would do something about this as it confuses many people. ) At the end of Dragonspryre, you were told to go see Merle Ambrose. Do that. Only he can grant you access to Celestia.
(You are now stuck with the key quest... but it's like Briskbreeze tower... which can pretty much only be beat with a team.)

The quest from the Storm Professor is optional. At one time it was required to get the key, but KI changed that a long time ago. If you still want to try that quest, you might want to check out some of the guides on the fansites, or even ask for help there too. Here are some links in case you are interested:
