pile of dirt in cenote quest

What's the story on "Pile of Dirt" in the Ruined MIne @ Cenote? I have battled there three times already and it keeps saying to go back? And now I forgot who the quest giver is... Is this a glitch or do I have to battle there a certain number of times? Hello, what the heck??

The pile of dirt is in the middle of the path of the zombies. So you gotta pick it up while you are safe from the last battle.

Battle? The pile of dirt is on the ground. You only need to use it. Just be careful, because it is in close proximity to enemies.
