I'm no expert on pets, but I'm pretty sure you can't socket a jewel with a talent your pet already has. Also, the damage and resist are always great for Necromancers, but there's not one critical talent, and only half a healing talent. I think Death Assailant/Striker would also be appreciated there, but that's the thing. You can't have every good talent, so use the pets with the right talents for you. If damage and defence are your thing, then go for it. Good luck in getting the pet too.
