i plan on pvping on a grandmaster ice, and the only good pet i find usable is my ancient starfish which has may cast ice trap and +6% universal resist. which new pet should i start off with? my pet stat goals are double resist and maybe damage buffs like pain giver. when should my pet receive my desired talents? at teen? at adult?

Talents can appear at any age with the exception of a few crown pets that always get a certain talent at a certain age in First Gen pets. Pick a pet that you like the cards it gives. Then hatch talents you want into it. Starfish is a good start because it has no selfish talents to begin. Look up the talents you want at http://www.wizard101central.com/wiki/Category:Talents_by_Type

See what pets have them naturally and where you can find them. Then start training and hatching. Or just request hatches at http://www.wizard101central.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?102-Pet-Mixing-Meet-Ups
