Breeding any two pets has either a random chance or a pedigree-based chance (I'm not too sure) to make either parent pet or a hybrid. If the combination you have in mind has no hybrids possible, then the pet you breed will be either a Crystal Butterfly or the other parent pet. But if it fails the first time, try again, eventually you'll have a Crystal Butterfly with half of the talents of each parent pet.
