Efreet is way to overpowered. Storms spell of the same pip cost does 1030 damage. Efreet does a lot of damage, 895 damage to be exact. That's reasonable. But a -90% damage charm! That's outrageous! Leviathan only removes two blades. Big deal you can still blade. But if you get hit with a -90% damage charm then you have to waste a hit and probably some blades to do almost 0 damage. Efreet's damage charm needs to be nerfed to a -30% damage. Then that could be fair. Imagine Medusa with 770 damage stun for one round and -90% damage. That's overpowered right? Or what if ice got a -90% incoming damage Tower Shield? Still overpowered. (Plus people would just quit the game .)
Moving on to Burning Rampage. A five pip spell that does 770 damage! If you put an epic on that, then it could do a 1070 damage for only five pips. Hmm? How about we look at storm's five pip lore spell. Catalan does less damage than Burning Rampage, it only does 700 damage. But, to be fair it does have a -25% accuracy ward which is okay but with a gear boost of +25% accuracy the odds of you fizzling are very low.
I thought storm was the strongest school in the game but apparently it is fire. Storm doesn't even much health . What a slap in the face to storm. (Sorry storm .)
You can't compare apples to oranges. Each school is unique, therefore, you can't really compare Fire to Storm, or Myth to Ice, or whatever.
Just because you don't like the damage taken or the after-effect from a school spell doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed. There are challenges to combat each school. You just have to learn your own school inside and out and be able to be prepared for the worst.
While most Wizards agree that Burning Rampage is severely overpowered, Efreet is just fine. There are various ways you can remove the weakness, such as Cleanse Charm or a wand hit. You should typically use a wand with a hit that is not of your school so you don't lose any blades.
storm was the strongest, but now theyre going towards more pierce and critical, while fire is just raw damage... and isnt burning rampage a dot, while catalan is a straight up hit... and you can craft, farm, and even just buy through pack to get catalan,,, Burning rampage, can only be done by farming, which requires stone keys, which requires several month
