Does Reporting Do Anything?

Lately on my level 70 Death I've encountered some vulgar and truly awful players. Whenever I report them, they get a notification that I reported and just continue their verbal assault.

For example, I tried Atlantea today and attacked using someone's Feint after giving a notice a round before that I was going to attack. The player started asking if I've ever played before and if this was my highest wizard and then said things covered by " ... ". He went on a childish tirade and went around the filters to call me some pretty bad things. So, I reported him. He immediately got a notification of the report and just continued to harass me.

So I wonder, do reports actually do anything in that moment? I hate seeing players like this, it ruins the game for everyone else. I've never gotten a message saying anything was actually done.

Yes, of course, they most certainly matter. Reporting is a significant tool for us to be able to know what is happening in the game and be able to act upon it quickly.

Each report is reviewed and acted upon, even if it isn't within the second of it being reported. There is naturally some delay. Don't worry, we'll get to it and thank you for the report!

I would mute, block or port away from a player like that in addition to the report. It's possible no one was live on duty at that moment or there were other reports ahead of that one.

They might not like it, but they earn a mute or block or for you to flee if they act that way.
