KI-
How about introducing modding as a way to bring new ideas into the game? Games like Ark and Minecraft have big presences online that love to create using available game resources from the developers.

If KI made resources available from W101/P101 then allowed community creations to be played in a mod/test realm, it could revitalize the game and have maps/creatures/gameplay develop that might not be thought of otherwise. Some modders create maps that are amazing, or creatures that look as good as what developers create.

I'd love to create a map based off of Marleybone using both W101 and P101 resources or do a rebuilt Dragonspyre school. Designing a Cool Ranch W101 level would also be fun.

A good idea but the main problem is this is a game that relies entirely on the Devs servers. There are no private servers like where you would find said mods. It would be incredibly difficult and incredibly expensive for KI to make it so mods could just be turned on by those who want them and mod creatures could only be seen and fought by those with the mod installed. It would cost KI a LOT of money to make this an option and they would get no real return on it like the other games do. For non MMOs mods are easy. However when talking MMOs unless they release the source code so people can tinker with the games full assets at will this will not happen because mods like those you are describing require private servers or they would have to make brand new realms dedicated to mods and those realms would have to have specific mods turned on and off. Say you have 3 mods. To make them playable if you wanted only mod 1 you'd have to play on a realm with only mod 1 turned on. So they would have to make multiple new realms and those realms take up server space slowing down the game as a whole unless they upgrade the servers which costs $$$. Same thing for mods 2 and 3. If you want a combo thats even more realms. Ones hosting 1&2, 1&3, 2&3, 1&2&3. Thats a lot of new realms, a lot of new CPU power, and a lot of $$$ to obtain and maintain all those new realms. When including dev work easily over $100k. And with the fact there would be more than just 3 mods very likely over $1M.

You'd limit the modded content to a different world of the spiral. Then they could keep the resources separate and running on their servers, but have it so that with a mod key you could access a different world and only upon accessing that world have modded resources load. No way they could have modding for existing worlds without devoting separate servers.

You could also use pre-existing servers and have only lower traffic ones with mods enabled.Mod worlds could be like DLC where if KI deemed them main game worthy then treat them like add-ons rather than separate settings. They add houses and gauntlets and dungeons without issue and only certain people access them. If they treat mods the same way I think they could figure out a way to do it without having to add private servers.
