Well all I can say is that choose life as your secondary school. Storm is very difficult to play due to being the weakest in terms of defence.

It's harder to solo bosses and dungeons, so I always try to 'team up' before I go in.

Also - fizzles. Fizzles, fizzles and fizzles. Though if you do manage to complete your spell, it is rather rewarding.

As a storm school main (Although I am only level29), I can say that choosing life as my secondary school was a great choice. Keeps you alive.

When I pick out gear, I always focus on the defence aspect first. Your damage is already the highest out of all other schools, so you really gotta work on the weaker parts of storm.

All in all, I love being in storm. It's a lot of fun, destroying enemies with my high damage.

If you want advice in terms of PvP, then unfortunately I have to tell you that i don't specialise in that field. I'm 100% a PvE player! :)

Best of luck! - Destiny (lvl29 )

Hiya! As a transcendent storm wizard, I have some experience playing as a storm wizard, and this is what I've learned:

- boosting your accuracy as quick as possible is the best thing to do. I know it can be tough in the earlier levels, but by the time I was a grandmaster diviner I had 100% accuracy and you can to with the right gear!

- in opposition to what was stated above, I personally focus more on damage than defense. Right now, I do have 26% universal resist which is pretty good, but my damage is 95% which is WICKED. You already have a ton of base damage, so if you can almost double the base damage with gear, add some enchants, and maybe crit, then you're set!

- choose life as a secondary school, but don't go too far. I personally went up to satyr and I regret it as I don't have a life mastery amulet and I can't waste valuable pips to heal. I would suggest going up to sprite so you have a one pip healing spell, but no farther than that. Use your extra training points to spend on the ice school so you can get tower shield, or wait until Celestia so you can get more astral spells. Also, if you don't want to spend training points on tower shield, you can buy tower shield treasure cards from vendors!

Side note: I personally have found it quite easy to solo as a storm wizard especially with the high accuracy and spells like tempest. The dungeons are a little more difficult, but you can manage as long as you have potions and remember to hit quickly!

All in all, the school of storm is very fun to play around with! The power is unbelievable, but make sure to not let that get to your head. Always help when you can, and be kind to others in the game! I hope you enjoy your storm experience!

I'm more of a Death guy, but I have some experience in Storm. I can give some tips:

1. Because your damage output is already so high, try as much as you can to increase defense and accuracy. Storm gear will naturally give big amounts of offense, so you don't need to worry as much over that. 2. Be prepared. As a Storm, you're gonna take a bunch of damage and fizzle a lot. Always be ready to heal and defend yourself, be it through treasure cards or training in ice (tower shield) or life (satyr). Definitely train in Life to Satyr, maybe even get a Mastery Amulet to help.

I am going to second the idea that training life to satyr will be a total waste on a storm wizard, the idea is to hit fast ad hard not stand there all day wasting pips healing. Healing treasure in most cases are a higher value heal anyway and easy to find, this way you have them for an emergency.

Your biggest issue at a lower level is going to be accuracy as everyone has stated, once you get past waterworks that is no longer a problem. In my experience some wizards naturally fizz more than others, I recall have more of a fizz problem on my life wizards with 90% accuracy spells then my storm wizard with 70% accuracy spells, my storm was pretty lucky.

What really helped on my (which is not that high leveled yet, almost to lvl 40), was to be sure to use that minion spell that you get in Krok. It really helps taking some of the hits off of you, and doesn't attack often. Of course, you probably might not wanna use it as much if you're not soloing. Also, shields helped so so much! I try to focus on improving my weaknesses, and defense is one of them. Be sure to carry a tower shield (tc or spell, it don't matter), or better yet, a shield that is the same school as the enemies you are fighting.

At lower levels, gear boost accuracy any way you can, then health. Hit hard, hit fast. Don't bother trying to play defensively. You won't win wars of attrition. Buff, attack. Take out enemies before they can hurt you.

Waterworks gear (at level 60) fixes accuracy and gives decent resist. Your health will still be low, and massive rapid damage is still more effective than shields most of the time. In boss fights with minions you'll do well to wipe out minions first to lower incoming damage, then stack up on the boss. Heal if you need to, but only when you need to.

Beware over-reliance on Tempest. It's a very useful spell, but the damage per pip from Storm Lord is higher, so as you advance that should be your go-to mob attack, with an enchanted Temp as a backup if you come up a little short.

Have fun, and don't be afraid to take chances. That's storm style -- it's not for the risk averse.

Good luck!

Though I have a great deal of experience playing as a Storm wizard, I need to update my strategy. I can still offer some advice, but you've probably already heard it before:

-Choose Life as a secondary school. Some say to avoid going up to Satyr, but I find that spell to be infinitely helpful due to it's high healing capability, despite my lack of a Mastery Amulet for this school. This spell is especially helpful if you critical whilst using it, which practically guarantees a complete heal.

-Choose Ice as a tertiary school. I find it to be completely worth the training points to learn Tower Shield, as it has saved my hide multiple times; and I only got it recently (as a level 93 wizard)!
Note: For both of the schools listed above, the shield combos from them are also extremely helpful!

-As stated previously by Prince of Shadows, hit hard and hit fast. Power up as much as you can while charging for your next spell, then use it as quickly (and safely) as you can. All too often, I find myself in a tight spot where my powerful spell has done just too little damage to defeat my enemy/enemies, so I either get defeated or otherwise stressed out by the situation. In short: Don't underestimate how much damage should be done, but try to be quick about hitting, as your low health will make you extremely vulnerable to defeat and weakness spells.

-Have fun! Storm if my favorite school, despite the inevitable challenges that come with it. And I'm a sucker for flashy effects from the spells. And Halston is a funny dude.

Getting some resist would be helpful due, to the fact that the wizards don't have much heath compared to other wizards.
