PvP-challenge based minigames. A new idea to spend

With more and more players looking for alternative activities that do not take large time commitments I was wondering if a new class of minigames could be added that were "pay gold to play" types. It could be similar to other game types where you pay some entry fee of gold to play and then your score is compared against others based on the type of contest such as the following:

1v1 = 1 player's score is compared with the next players score, the high score wins Tickets.

Best of 5 = 5 players all compete and when 5 have played those scores are compared and the winner gets Tickets.

There could be even larger contests of 100 and the top 10 win Tickets. There are a lot of possibilities here with this general idea.

The Tickets could be Arena Tickets since they are also a form of PvP or be their own group. Personally I like to just keep then as all one type for PvP so people can play both and not get bored with one while still gaining Tickets toward some items they have their eyes on. You may want to have separate "Rankings" though or just no rankings at all in Minigame PvP Challenges.

Anyone have additional thoughts on this idea?
