Miss Zoe, a Fierce Hound that has been with my wizards since my first was level 40.
We have a Scarecrow that spins Trap, Blade and Spritely in a row quite often. Thanks to him my Glacial Cat and Astral Judge have Spritely by adult too.
In the end the best pet is the one that helps you in battle, not so much what it is actually for me.
As a level 71 wizard, I want to answer this question...
The best pet is personal, based on four things: 1. How awesome it looks with your wizard 2. How it keeps you and your buddies awesome in battles 3. How appealing and irresistable it appears for others to hatch with 4. How good its stats, talents, pet race, and pedigree, are overall
So... for Looks - does it match your wizard color and fit your style? for Battles - is it selfish or also helpful to others with defense and heals? for Hatching - is it really rare, a crowns pet, or something people want? for Stats - does it have all epic talents, a 96 pedigree, max of 300 powers?
I think the Ideal pet would look like this.......
Strength: 300 Intellect: 300 Agility: 300 Will: 300 Power: 300 An additional card the pet gives: Unicorn, Balance Blades, Dragon Blade, Feint, Satyr, or Ice Armor
Pedigree: 90-96 Talents: Unicorn, Gargantuan, Spell Proof, Smoke Screen Any of these talents could be substituted for the one I listed: Spritely, Pain Giver, Spell Defy, Balance Blade, Tower Shield, or Vengeance (there's probablyother good ones out there too)
I bet 100% of others out there would agree with me that some or all of the above mentioned talents would be in the best pet they have if its really good. So although, my answer isnt a canned one pet...

96 pedigree Samoorai (gives Unicorn Card) with all epic talents and pet derby talents, and the main talents are:
#1. Spell Proof (10% resist all self only) #2.Tower Shield (may cast 50% resist all self only) #3. Unicorn (may cast 300+ health to all) #4. Defy (5% resist all self only)
So, not only is the pet a powerhouse defender, it also can heal everyone...When you spell out the abilities, your pet is a STUD!

Sorry, you are wrong on a few things here. Its impossible to get a 96 pedigree pet with defy. The max stats are 250 all across the board. 300 all across impossible. Even with selfish talents. You can get 300 to all except 1 of your choice, but not 300 to all. Defy is only a rare talent. You don't even have a single talent on selfish for your 300 to all! XD
