The players don't defeat Morganthe... MALISTAIRE does!

Here is the storyline:

The player defeats Malistaire, only to learn that the dangerous Morganthe is rising to power.

As the player plays through the second arc of worlds, the prophecy unfolds and eventually, in the world of Umbra, Morganthe plans to make the "sky" (spiral) fall. The player battles Morganthe, but when her health gets down to zero, she shows her true form as the Umbra Queen.

Then there is a cut to the Great Spyre. There is a cutscene (say what?) where Malistaire's and Sylvia's ghosts are escorted to the Dragon Titan's hideout. Malistaire's ghost has realized that bringing back Sylvia would leave the Dragon Titan with excess power that could be used to destroy the Spiral. However, he is now dead is well, so that extra power can be used to resurrect him. After he and his wife become alive again, there is a small bit of power left which Malistaire takes before the Dragon Titan can misuse it.

Meanwhile, Morganthe is attempting to destroy the player once and for all. As she is preparing her spell, Malistaire (who is now allied with Wizard City now that his objective [bringing his wife back] is complete) flashes into the battle and uses that last bit of power to rid the Spiral of Morganthe, this time for good.

Then, Malistaire and Sylvia return to Ravenwood. Malistaire brings the Death School up back into Ravenwood (of course this is only visible to players who have completed the storyline) and resumes teaching Death Magic. Dworgyn, however, remains in a corner as the assistant. Sylvia appears in the Life School as an assistant to Moolinda Wu. Everything returns to normal after that.

Anything you would change? Keep in mind that the player still "defeats" Morganthe, but she comes back as a much more powerful being. So that's NOT missing from the questline.

There won't be a conclusion unless KI decides to take the game down. I really don't see that happening.

But your take on it was interesting. :)

I certainly hope a conclusion isn't near, for it could be the end of updates, and of the game

Haha it would be funny if Merle Ambrose went like this:
"Good job wizard! However did you defeat the Umbra Queen?"
"Oh, Malistaire helped you? I guess he gets the Grand Hero of the Spiral badge!"
"You will be noticed as his fellow assistant and he would be posted on the hall of fame for centuries!"

Conclusion of the Morganthe arc. After that...

Malistaire (Death, Lv. 50, 2009)- DEFEATED
Morganthe (Fire, Lv. 100, 2014)
Basil the Basilisk (Myth, Lv. 150, 2019)
Forest Fury (Life, Lv. 200, 2024)
Keeper of the Ankh (Balance, Lv. 250, 2029)
Angelica (Ice, Lv. 300, 2034)
Mr. Kamikaze (Storm, Lv. 350, 2039)
Then the player, which is level 350 by now(lol) must go through the GAUNTLETS OF DEATH and stop the spirits of the Eight Darknesses from obtaining the CRYSTAL OF RESURRECTION by destroying it. It's not going to be easy.

THEN they MAY take the game down because my predictions say after completing the Gauntlets of Death it will be in the late 30s, and KI will want to retire. Besides, 40 worlds is enough, no?

Oh, and when I said "take the game down", I meant "stop updating it".

I certainly hope there is NO CONCLUSION.

I would be disappointed if this game were to end that quick.

Great idea! There is only one problem: Malistaire died. The player defeats him and he goes to "a better place" with Sylvia. KI should have Malistaire come back and help you defeat Morganthe, the same way Ambrose does in the tutorials. Watching. There should be a new enemy at the back, the new Malistaire or Morganthe. Just ideas.

That would be a fantastic ending, but I don't want W101 to end. Possibly another threat comes to the spiral.

1. ok
2. ok
3. Basil? seriously? Also basilisks are known as evil creatures of dark magic, not "main bosses" themselves.
4. Forest Fury sounds more like a spell, not a name lol.
5. So keeper of the risen dead is an enemy? Sounds more like a friend to me actually
6. Why is ice angel-like? Why couldn't the ice boss be something like "Everwinter" where he/she plunges all of the spyre, or tries to, into an enternal winter?
7. Random Fact- did you know that kamikaze is japanese for "holy wind"? This is why the suicide bombers were said to "kamikaze" their targets. It is a religious ritual based on the belief that it is necessary to give your life to take that of your enemy's and that such a death was honorable and would ascend your spirit into the Christian equivalent of heaven.
So why would we name the storm boss Mr. Holy Wind? Why not Maelstrom?

A Basilisk is a Lizard-Dragon that has no wings, and its skin is very poisonous, and it shoots out acid and fire.

6 is already from Wintertusk.

LOL.

That made me smile- see, he's totally not evil. If Sylvia would just hurry up and come back already, then the whole mess would have been solved ages ago and we all could have just talked it out over tea and a plate of cookies. :P

(no cookies for you, Sylvia- the Spiral nearly asploded, and it was indirectly your fault!)

I keep hoping for another plot, since Bartleby's eye is still missing and we never found out what happened to it. Maybe...

1. Malistaire gave it to Morganthe;
2. he hid it somewhere (Sylvia's crypt?), or
3. maybe he's still out there somewhere, holding it and muttering "my preeeecioussss" to himself, a la Smeagol (uh, creepy).

You post sounds familiar, OP- did you post something similar on another board recently?

3. Some basilisks are more intelligent than others, for example mine that did 400K damage.
4. Whatever.
5. The ankh is the egyptian symbol for life. It is also the thing Ra uses to stream sunlight in the enemy's face.
6. That is wintertusk but at a higher level. This snow angel is trying to pretend to be good while defying everyone.
7. Fine, Mr. Malestrom (no offense but you spelled it wrong).
