Then use the practice arena instead.
You can set up the match exactly the way you want it then, and agree with others (if you choose friends only) on various rules, whether to allow treasures, pets, and so on.
you won't get - gasp - arena tickets or - groan - ranking, but you can always play ranked when you want that stuff.
But use the practice area for setting up a match you can control when you're looking for a game to enjoy.
