World "Jumping"

I have noticed since Celestia was released that with all the super high exp quests and fights some wizards are kinda jumping the gun (or entire worlds in this case.) Where I used to see magus and master level wizards there asking me to take them into the Chancel I would generally just say " your very close to getting here, keep on trucking and finish those quests man!"

This I was basically ok with having happen every now and then. but more recently i am having this come up: I literally had today two fire NOVICE wizards (levels 1 and 2!!!) ask me to take them through the chancel! what am I supposed to say to them? Give them my little pep talk? Even more........unsensible is the word I am going to use here, is they called me a noob and brought their legendary wizards in to try and impress me or something (not really sure what it was supposed to prove.) So what if you have a legendary wizard? So what if you have beaten the game once,twice,3-6 times. Does that really give you the right to take a shortcut? I have my Ice wizard at legendary and am currently working on my life and death wizards at this point. Not ONE TIME have i gone to a place the character couldnt access on its own. That's just plain not right. It's pracically taking the fun out of playing the game the game and having the persistance needed to complete the game the RIGHT WAY. I am NOT and I repeat NOT trying to dictate how people need to play Wizard101 AT ALL, but a simple thought process needs to be established here.

The first time we play Wizard101 we dont know anything about anything but the commons and the headmasters office. We dont know anything about other areas until we are told to do something in that area and we generally UNLOCK IT by doing storyline quests. So, lets jump ahead in time now. you have beaten foulgaze and discovered nightside (the storyline quests that have headmaster ambrose summon you to give you the spiral key to unlock Krokotopia.) now that you have the Spiral Key for Krokotopia you can venture and quest there, because you LEARNED about it and unlocked the area because you followed the games storyline. Before you do said quests you have no knowledge of Krokotopia,Marleybone,Mooshu, Dragonspyre, Grizzlehiem and Celestia. Sure, friends can tell you but that doesnt tell you where it is at or how to get there.

I would like to think of it as visiting a new place in your real life. You have not been there before ever and you dont know how to get there. But once you visit it a few times you know the location and learn the surroundings you can travel there with ease. Same principal should be applied to Wizard101. If you haven't unlocked the area how would you know how to get there? Same rule applies for instances, if your character has not unlocked the instance, (being having a reason to go into the area) why would you feel compelled to enter it in the first place? This just isnt adding up. I can understand being curious about getting to new areas and all trust me. I want my life wizard out of mooshu badly haha, but I absolutely REFUSE to jump there because there is no place to go. Dragonspyre was accurate with having to have done the storyline quests for mooshu to unlock even the first area in it. So if you go straight to Dragonspyre the farthest place you can go without using another person is The Basilica.

Celestia on the other hand has instances all over the place in just the starting area Celestia Base Camp. 3 instances people can beg legends and grandmasters to take them into, where we kinda have a relentless barrage of newbies (or veteran players trying to cut corners) to take them to places they have not yet earned the right to explore to begin with. And I can safely say this is a problem because MY IGNORE LIST IS ACTUALLY FULL!!!! You herd me, full ignore list. 99% of that ignore list is those newbies or corner-cutting veterans(i wont use the word "Cheating" here because it isn't a completely accurate use.) who are trying to cheat (now i'll use it) themselves out of the Wizard101 experience. Because in reality is being able to skip a full SIX WORLDS (this is including grizzleheim) a very worthwhile use of a players time? Obvious answer: no.

My general opinon is this: If your that bored of wizard101 that you have to cut corners to achieve your goals on this game, maybe its time you took a look at other MMO's? The way I see it the people who have to cut corners in this game are clearly getting tired of the same casing spells making and recreating decks etc., so why torture yourself?

As for solutions to this issue I am thinking of a magical map that shows where you can and cannot go within the spiral. another idea is to choose the key to the world your going to. also for teleporting to places you generally cannot go, simply have a message with something like "how am i supposed to get there?" or "wheres that place, sounds too scary for me!" or something along that line.

I am Always Happy to elaborate my opinons to those who do not understand fully. Do NOT Start attacking me because you dislike my opinons. That is down right rude and disrespectful and it makes you look like well.....a little kid dare I say? I Am here to bring up a completely valid point and in my opinion huge error to Wizard101 and hope For this issue to be looked at.

Your post falls under three complaint/ idea categories Porting, Power Leveling and World Locks. There are tons of posts on all those topics. There really is no solution at this point.

Professor Falmea did a Feedback Friday 09-24-10 on porting. There were 51 pages of responses. As it stands now when a person buys areas with crowns or has a subscription you have UNLIMITED access to all worlds via porting to a friend. That leads to the ability to power level and mark a spot. KI has granted this ability and only they can change it. They have made some changes so we will have to see what they do.

Basically it comes down to you like to play the game one way and other wizards like to play the game their way. I personally don't power level but, I respect others rights to do as they wish. You can't decide how I should play anymore than I can decide for you.

Just a hint-You really can't dictate how we respond to your post. Furthermore, if you post on a controversial subject you will feel the heat from those that disagree with you. That is life. It is something we adults know well having had it happen to us.

i totally agree with u. this game has an intresting story line that i love and many people dont appreciate it.but i actullay noticed this thing that happend to me twice, high levels ask low levels to help them in areas that low levels haven't reached yet. the first time i was a level 5 and my freind menu chated me help so i telaportad to him. he was soloing some bear dude named jontun. the second time i was level 10 and i helped some dude with the order of the fang quest,( i didnt do the battles, i just told him how to solve the puzzles which were so easy LOL). i think that this is rude beacause u dont know who your up against and once you teleport, u dont have time to run away and u get suked in to the battle., plus, if your like me and wanna stick to the story line, well u just are doing battle in higher level areas. the only reason that i telaported to those guys was beacause i have trouble saying no and that they helped me with a quest i was stuk on.

They are only going in there for the xp. You can't skip a world and progress.

You can take a level 1 into DS Lab and get all the xp that it gives out.

As for the novices wizards asking you to take them in, go ahead, take them in then leave them there, if they want the xp then they can work for it! LOL

The people just want to go there for the awesome experience it gives out. If your only level 1 you can get a;ll the way to level 7 just for participating for the chancel, so its common that people would want to go there so that they can level up as fast as lightning .

i dont mind people asking to port to get something, i asked my friend to help me get all the lizards in celestia, i am guilty of that, i also asked them to take me to the stormriven so i could get the secret moon trainer, i dont mind so much if they are friend asking to go somewhere so they can grab something, especailly with school misions, i had a balance guy, but i couldnt get to the balance school and tree for a spell, so, i asked a friend to take me there, i was the level for the mission, why couldnt i go there?

simple thing, if someone asks for porting into a higher level, either ignore them, literally, and if they dont stop/follow you, then list, or just change realms, the later is more work, but it is less stress for ya ignroe list

I appreciate your opinion and every part of it is as true as life though unfortunately I am against powerleveling :(

"help me with sunken city sombody plz it is so impossible i mean first tower three 600 hp deaths, seriosly?"

I would be glad to help you with sunken city, I do believe it is overly difficult for someone who just gets the quest. let me know when your available to do the instance and i would love to help. (though I will probably being my level 38 life wizard instead of ice ((free exp!! :-) )))

"As for the novices wizards asking you to take them in, go ahead, take them in then leave them there, if they want the xp then they can work for it! LOL"

You are pure EVIL man, are you sure your not malistaire in disguise?
Just to get a tiiiiiny bit if aggression out I might do that to the first oh I don't know......10-20 novices that ask me.

Also, I appreciate that I was not "flamed" within those posts. Thank You for your inputs, they are greatly appreciated.

Power leveling bugs me too. But, I realize some folks do it. KI has implemented some changes that effect it. I am not awake enough to explain it well. On wizard101central.com (a fansite) there is a post on the changes. You might go check it. Search power leveling.

Thanks for posting a well thought out post. Glad I did not insult you.

Same thing happend to me. This level 2 fire wizard asked for me to take them to that Chancel. I said i cant i dont want you to die. Then he said you better take me. I started wondering why should I. Then he went on about him having Legendary wizards too. I didnt really care cause i already had 2 Legendarys. Then he got on his Legendary and started harrasing me. He sadi he better take his other wizard in or he will report me . Why would he report me for not taking in his other wizard cause I thought he might die or something. :( :( :(

I respect the way you feel, because I am tired of lowbies asking me for a lift to CL. In fact, some port to CL without even ASKING! I reccomend you turn ports off all the time.

I have had a major change of heart. I now think world locks need to be implemented. I have been totally against them. The honor system isn't working. The problems from unrestricted porting are effecting many peoples enjoyment of the game.

From the Terms of Service--"(13) engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone’s use or enjoyment of the Site, or which, as determined by the Company, may harm the Company or users of the Site or expose them to liability. KI has stated we have full access to all worlds with a subscription or purchase of crowns. They need to add. Access will be granted AFTER you acquire the Spiral Key.

One thing that prevents the issue of lower lvl Wizards porting to you is to limit your friend's list to, well, friends. Do these low lvl people even help you? Are they not just some random people that added you? Do they actually TALK to you? If they do, that's great, and you can help them out every once in a while. But if they don't speak to you, and are just constantly asking you for help, give them the boot. :)

Block your friend requests, and only add someone if you feel they truly are your friend.
See ya in the Spiral!
