I like the idea of a changing sky from day into night. It sets the mood better. Usualy there is: sunrise, dusk, dawn, and sunset. Note, I have seen it done.
This is a great idea, but the reason there's no change of weather is because they want to keep to the theme. Colossus Boulevard can't just turn into day! All the snow would melt. The dark cave HAS to keep dark. So, I hope you get what I'm saying.
