Question about reporting someone

I have a question regarding using the Report function.

I've used it several times for people using either direct foul language, or "creative" foul language (I won't post examples, in case there are some that don't know about it).

Here is my question - I see posts from people complaining about being falsly reported. When I click Report, and Submit (I think that's how it is done), does the person I'm reporting get notified that I just made a report against them? I always thought it was confidential.

The player being reported receives a notification that they have been reported.
This helps give them some indication that what they are doing is potentially inappropriate.

They do not have any indication as to who reported them.

I'm going to guess I've never been reported then, as I never knew that :)

Thank you, Professor Greyrose, for the answer.
