Low level PvP: Battle of the Burning Rampage

If you participate in low level ranked PvP, odds are you've come across a player with Burning Rampage. This is a trained spell, dropped by a stone skeleton key boss in Avalon. Avalon is the world after Zafaria, which is after Celestia, which is after Dragonspyre. A level 10 player would not be questing in Avalon as part of the normal quest line.

However, thanks to KI's porting policy, low level players can obtain Burning Rampage simply by partnering with a higher level, or their own second account's higher level, and farming away in Avalon. Which is, simply put, wrong.

Solution? Stop allowing players who would not be in a world as part of their quest line access to that world. No more farming Loremaster at level 12, no more farming for Burning Rampage at level 10. KI could make Burning Rampage a crafted treasure card or trained spell, or available for purchase at the Bazaar. You can do this with Loremaster, why not Burning Rampage?

Low level PvP is nothing more than a battle between players who have access to higher level worlds. I watched someone go from private to commander in a day, because of Burning Rampage. No skill, no strategy, just the ability to farm Lambent Fire with higher level players.

KI needs to take a serious look at this issue, because PvP is supposed to be fun. As it stands now, PvP, at least low level, is aimed at players who have an unfair advantage: farming in worlds to which they do not have access. And that is a problem, especially for people who are attempting to complete their daily PvP assignment.

It's one thing to spend gold on treasure cards. It is quite another to have the ability to receive a high level trained spell by farming a boss to whom you do not normally have access.

I don't think the issue is that people can farm Burning Rampage on a low level wizard, it's just that Rampage itself is too strong. There's basically no counterplay to it from second. Wizard101Central tournaments ban the spell from levels 1-99, meaning you should be on Morganthe by the time it's considered "fair". It's going to be busted on a low level because it's just busted.

The issue is probably a good mix of both to be honest. The spell was intended for people level 70 and above. It should NOT be available if you are not level 70 at least and have Avalon unlocked from doing the story line. At the same time the spell is also VERY broken. There is no counter if you don't predict it correctly from second as you stated and really that ruins it for all levels.

But even if you lower the damage it still doesn't belong in lower level pvp. Spells like rampage and loremaster were intended for certain level wizards to learn which is why they are placed in the worlds they are or you have to be a certain level crafter to craft them. Even if you lower the damage Rampage will still be a spell completely OP for lower level pvp as it will still have a base damage higher than any other spell a low level wizard has access to unless they get lucky purchasing rare TC out of the bazaar or while buying packs.

Plus the dungeon rampage drops in itself isn't really fair. People have actually taken their wizards and proven that burning rampage is much more likely to drop faster for low level wizards than for not only the level it's intended for but the drops rates for max level are pretty much zilch. Basically if you have a max you can't get the spell without extensive farming so why should a level 10 wizard or a 15 get to have it to burn their way through pvp with no effort?

The spell was intended for level 70 and above? I don't recall k I saying that its free to all and besides if few already got it then everyone who is fire should get it. As stated the spell is too strong in damage with 0 counterplay from second other than spamming shield and counter hitting if you know they gonna remove the shield. nerf the damage to 50-550 over 2 rounds a 5 pip level spell should not be doing more damage that Catalan with a useless effect if you want to compare damage. vs fire out damage storms in certain spells numbers don't lie. ramp-firedragon-FFA are a perfect example.
Don't even mention wild or insane bolt randomness don't count towards guaranteed damage.
