Some ideas to breathe some life back into Derby.

So Derby has been stagnant for about 5 years now with no real changes done to it. This is a tragedy because the Derby community while small is still very passionate about the mode and with some TLC by Kingsisle it could draw in more players to participate in it than it does in its current state. Caspeen over on Wizard101 Central posted some good ideas about how to improve Derby for the better but just to summarize some of her points:

1. Bug fixes. It's no secret that Derby has been plagued with glitches for a long time now (one of which being the 3rd lap glitch), and this severely hampers gameplay. By fixing these major bugs it would make Derby more playable and enjoyable than it is now.

2. Rewards. As it stands the rewards we have now currently are basically worthless. 3, 2 and 1 tickets for 1st-3rd respectively & 10 gold for 4th in a ranked race assuming there are 4 players. If not remove the 3 tickets reward. The Derby only pets can just be hatched for as well so they don't count either. By putting better and more meaningful rewards in you incentivize and encourage more ranked play than you do currently. Both 1 & 2 would also help with wait times, which are huge due to a lack of players playing.

3. More courses. We've had the same 18 courses for years now since its inception with no changes while in the Arena it's gotten new cosmetic arenas to fight in. More courses=more creativity and fun and diversity.

I could go on but Caspeen explained the points better than I ever could. Basically though if Derby is to ever shine again then a joint effort between the community and KI especially is needed. KI needs to fix the bugs & give players a reason to play Derby while the community needs to let KI know that they still care about Derby by posting about it more often. It's a two-way street and only by working together can we truly make the Pet Derby great again.

Thank you for your time.

KI should look into this.

Makes no sense introducing ideas such as Pet Derby and recently Fishing if KI doesn't plan on showing the attention these areas need.

For rewards, adding Mega snacks to rewards and/or giving pets training points would be good incentive. Also an energy restoration reward based on placing would be good too.

Having to play the same insanely boring pet games over and over to train up a pet is rather tedious. If you could train your pet by winning derbies that would be more than worth it.

Currently the only other way to train pets outside of pet games and item feeding is at the end of ranked derby matches. I do like the idea of MS rewards, though perhaps that should be reserve for maybe win streaks or gotten every other race to prevent abuse if you know what I mean.
