The New UI Is a Problem

Please allow a setting to change the user-interface back to its former glory. Symbols that replace words are difficult to understand. Extra clicking just to see item cards is unenjoyable. This problem causes a major problem for new players.

For the issue of not fitting items on screen: the UI size can be switched from micro to extra large. Please allow something such as "Classic UI - ON - OFF".

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem like something that can be done (or at least easily). The change was a bit of a shock at first, but there were additional updates to the UI and it helped a lot.

The main issue was that items were going off screen even with different UI sizes. That wasn't fair to some players and it is now resolved.

As for icon changes, it just takes time to understand what they mean. Definitions were also added in the Interface - Help section of the spell book in game too. Most cards can also be recognised through the small icon on the front page. Better than no icon at all ;)

I brought this issue up on Twitter a few weeks ago and to date, nothing has been done to rectify that problem. Those tiny little symbols mean nothing to young players and are harder to see for many others. The UI was fine the way it was by showing what was given with each piece of gear or spell cards a pet had.

My grandson keeps asking what a symbol means or why he can't see the stats on his gear. Some kids learn better math when they have to calculate for themselves instead of having the UI set for "SETS"

Thank you for the detailed response Cody. A simple On and Off setting does not seem that difficult for the new UI. It seems like a hassle for most players to put up with the new setup. Newer players will suffer with this update as it requires too much clicking.

The OP is right. DragonLady1818 is right. Her grandson is right.

Symbols = bad. Clear, precise, transparent, easy to understand words = good.

I can look at their description for symbols all I want and still not know what they do. On gear and Beastmoon too.

Slightly off-topic comment - do yous know some items that were once tradeable are tradeable no longer? One major example is the jewel vault.
