Fire beetle banned?

I don't know which one of you requested this but.... You make me... not happy. First of all fire beetle is mainly a TC and whoever called it OP is the one that caused the ban. 2nd. Let me point out OTHER SCHOOLS HAVE THIS SPELL! The difference? it's 1 trap not 3, fire beetle couldn't get nerfed to that? Really? You need a FULL ON BAN? Kingsisle we have fire beetle TC for a reason, by banning it you mine as well retire it because no one is going to use it. NERF IT DO NOT BAN IT.

Ask Kingsisle. Clearly banning fire beetle and leaving mana burn in the game is the correct way to balance PvP!!

Oh for goodness sake, turn down the heat in here a little bit.

Fire Beetle was banned for precisely the reasons you mentioned. Its ability to put a Fuel Trap on the enemy was likely abused in PvP matches for its cheap Pip cost.

I think KI is banning it until they figure out what changes should be made. It may come back to PvP in time.

My understanding is that the problem with Fire Beetle was that you could stack three of them.

AI have heard that Mana Burn is being nerfed in the new update.

Because fire beetle was just as broken as guardian spirit. It allowed fire to do 5000 damage with a 4 pip shadow spell in shrike. Fire is still broken enough without fire beetle.

I literally posted the suggestion did you even read my post? or click on the links? I specifically say a ban is mad over kill.

lol nerfing mana burn should make balance happy spell takes 3 pips and is non boostable.

sweet what other spell is 80 per pip damage yet boostable Tempest balance pvp nerf it to 30 perp pip non boostable.

easier fix to balance pvp would be to nerf all balance spells to under 100 total damage.

question are they nerfing ice spell that is boostable and removes pips.

Myth has yellow troll.

Balance doesnt need this spell since the only shield you can do is tower meaning needing a shield buster that gives a trap raises balance's advantage even more. Also, there is midnight sprite which works just fine for balance anyways.
Want to point out all those examples give only one trap (though icebird is a bit overkill). There are like 4-5 different types of fire beetle tc's which are easy to get, which is why it was right to be removed since fire was making shielding completely irrelevant against and making it even counter-productive. Until they readjust guardian spirit, fire shouldn't get some broken spell either until it is readjusted also. In test realm, fire was literally spamming fire beetle every round then using a hit to kill and there were 0 counters to this.

All except storm beetle don’t have as much of an impact on pvp like fire beetle did.

It added 3 traps for cheap pips, and fire is the main school for damage over time. The spell needed to be removed for now, it was truly overpowered.

I don’t understand this community, everyone calls for changes to PvP, they start doing so, but it’s not good enough! Then what do you want!!??

the problem is kids who cant win any pvp matches at all complain about something being "op" and ask for balance my point is a ban on fire beetle is over kill they can nerf it down to one trap. they can adjust spells to do things only in pvp as well, just look at juju, loremaster, guardian spirit, burning rampage. banning it is just an extreme overkill and now a waste of good tc.

They said they just banned it for now until they decide how to re-balance it so it isn't overpowered in the new turn-based PvP system. I'm under the impression that it will come back after they decided how to change it, and they didn't want to rush a change to it that we would be unhappy with. Maybe they want to do something to it to keep it in the spirit of the Fire school and not just change it to the same as every other beetle that leaves a trap?

I may be wrong but that's what I believe anyway. Keep in mind another good suggestion is changing the traps to 25% and perhaps making it 2 traps instead of 3.

Its a deserved ban. You could just stack Fire Beetle with Fire from Above, especially from first. If the enemy player wouldn't stop shielding, just Shrike => Fire Dragon / Scald => Fire Beetle. There was little to no counterplay. It should stay banned.

It's like jewel was the only one that actually read my post, did you even read when I said "it needs a nerf not a ban" and the nerf options are there and "here are the examples of the same thing from other schools..." also why aren't you complaining about snow bird? you know the 2 pip bird that does a hit and gives you a blade for ice? not gonna talk about that??

All the 2 pip damage into trap / charm spells should have the pip cost doubled or tripled and damage amplifier nerfed, if not outright banned. Especially for fire, since it can abuse them the most. Except for Rain Beetle, as that's kind of Storm's specialty. I've stopped PVP for some time because of its unbalanced meta and the lack of a timer cap on games (45 minutes - 1 hour), so forgive me if I don't remember every abusable treasure card and pet active in the game. I think I will make a later post on how PVP can be fixed properly for all schools, after I try out turn-based PVP and see what strategies are being abused there as well.

I can tell you're the storm that keeps dying to fire. your post is biased. if you want them all nerfed except storm (which is even one pip less) you're biased. and i bet you money your "fair pvp fixing" is gonna be less than fair.
