castle magic spells tome

When one goes to Babbage Bassett , a book of castle magic spells is given. . He says he gives it for the wizard to read up on the spell. How does one open it? Thanks for any help.

I figured it out in case anyone is interested. Once you place the book you can then press X and read it.
