Farming gold and buying Ore in the Bazaar is probably the fastest way to get it. It costs no more than 175g per chunk, and is frequently available.
As far as farming the ore itself goes, the Cave of Solitude in Mooshu near the teleporter has a lot of Ore. Pick up all you can see, switch realms, then repeat.
