When you're on the character selection screen and hit the exit button, the game freezes for me (on windows 7 fully up to date), since the summer release.

same here and I am on win10; just started after the August update. There is another thread about it -seems many are having various issues

I have the same problem, that's why I just don't go in full screen anymore. I just press the "X" at the top right corner. It is irritating.

I hope they fix it.

Same thing for me. Didn't know it as a common issue

Yep, same issue!
Running Windows 8.1
Never have full screen enabled.
Wizard101 "not responding" at exit screen.
Must kill the process in order to shut Wizard101 down.
Noticed it since last update.

And ... it's sporadic. It's happening quite often but not every single time.

Windows 10, both pre and post Anniversary Update, same problem.

It completely crashes my PC, in effect though, because the screen goes completely white and even Alt + Ctrl + Del doesn't help. While all programs appear in my taskbar, I cannot choose any of them, or even Task Manager. Screen remains white. Only fix is hard reboot.

I would normally consider this a significant nuisance, but as the game is unplayable under Win 10 Anniversary update, I'm out for the week or so that fix takes.

Thanks for the attention to this problem. I'm having exactly the same symptoms as Paigegoldenspear. Either have to unplug or hit off button to hard reboot. The fact that Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work is very bothersome. All in all though, a great update.

I think I may have found a fix for this. If you right-click on either the Desktop shortcut or the Start Menu shortcut, you can set the Compatibility Mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 3). This fixed the issue for me. I'm running on Windows 7.
