This is a quick question, but do you need to be at least 18 or do you have to be at least 19 years?

If it's at least 18, then it'll explain a bit of the problem I'm having, although I'm not sure if I can post it here...

Open chat is for 18+. You can find that information in the Player guide.

You must be over the age of 12 to unlock text chat, and if you want to toggle open chat you must be 18 or over.

Here's a copy from one of my posts.

It doesn't matter that you turned 18 in real life, what really matters is when you made your account, and what age you put on it. For example, if you made an account on February 25, 2017 and you put the age as 15, then you would have to wait until February 25, 2020 to enable open chat, when your account would then be 18 years old. I suggest you look at when you made your account, and try to recall what age you put down on it. If you don't remember, I suggest emailing Kingsisle. If the option for open chat is not listed under the account options area, then you still have to wait. Buying a membership/crowns will not make it show up if you still have to wait.

HOWEVER, if you originally put down your age as 12 or younger when you made your account, then that account will NEVER get open chat. The US government makes it illegal for Kingsisle to store your age if you are 12 or younger, so there is basically no age even stored on your account when you first made it if you put one of those ages in originally.

If you put the age as at least 13, then it is simply a matter of waiting.

Hmm... This is weird then.

The Card I have is a constant 1 Month membership renew, and just turned the required age to have Open Chat, but didn't unlock it even though my 1 Month membership renewed it being 18.

Do I have to choose a bigger membership or buy a lot of Crowns to unlock it permanently?

Not really. I bought 5 dollars worth of crowns from the website and instantly open chat was unlocked. I tell most my friends open chat basically costs 5 dollars lol.

To unlock open chat, you need to be at least 18 and have made a purchase from the W101 website. If I remember correctly, you can use Paypal to unlock open chat. This does mean not having a credit card directly linked to your W101 account. But I might be wrong. I forgot whether I used Paypal or my credit card directly because I use both to make purchases.
