What are the specific interactions overtime has?

As the title says, I would like to know of many of the specific interactions overtime spells have.

For example: Does blading an overtime increase the overall damage or just the initial hit?

Thanks in advance to all who reply!

Assuming you mean "Damage over Time" spells such as Frostbite... Casting a blade or adding an enchantment such as 'Giant' will increase the total damage of the entire spell. Same with any auras or bubbles. They affect the entire spell, from start to finish.

Adding traps to the enemy will cause the trap to only affect one single tick or the very first hit, depending on when you cast the trap. In the case of Frostbite, your ice traps would work better on one of the ticks and not your first hit, because it starts with only 50 damage to break through shields. (I think. Not an Ice expert here, since one of my main schools is Fire. But, Fire is the DoT school. It's what we do best... )

Anyway, if you set up traps before using your Snow Angel, you will get a much harder hit when the spell first activates, but the DoT ticks on the next three turns won't be affected by the trap, because it was already used up. If you want traps to power the entire spell, you will need to set up a total of 4 traps, one for each tick after the first hit.

Hope that helps!

Charms affect the entire amount of damage; wards affect only one hit.

Charms/Blades: Affect both the initial hit AND the overtime

Wards/Traps: Affect the damage inflicted at that certain point when the spell does damage

Enchants: Affect both the initial hit AND the overtime

Example: A fire blade boosts both the initial hit and the overtime of fire elf
A weakness decreases both the initial hit and the overtime of fire elf

A fire trap activates for the initial hit of fire elf then disappears
A fire trap placed after the initial hit of fire elf activates for the first turn of the overtime

A tower shield placed before the initial hit of fire elf activates for the initial hit but does not affect the overtime
A tower shield placed after the initial hit of fire elf activates for the first round of overtime damage but does not affect the rest of the overtime

A sun damage enchantment spell divides it's added damage between the initial hit and the overtime

Hope that helped to clear things up!
Hope to see you all in the Spiral!
