This has happened way too much to me now. Its happening to me right now.

Let me explain my problem
I go in to log into Wizard101 but I can't because the launcher glitches out. When I enter my PS to start playing the launcher disappears out of the random no where and when I try to close the wizard101 launcehr form the taskbar it refuses to close thus closing me out from playing Wizard101. This has happened multiple times and is annoying. I was able to find some things about it though

1. When it does that, there is a white square that is bordered by a black base thing.
2. It will flash orange and then go back to its original order when trying to close the launcher from the taskbar
3. When trying to grab the thing described by problem 1., it isn't movable and will stay there like a backround on a computer

This is what I do to solve your rather large problem!

Step one: Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE
Step two: Open task manager
Step three: Find Wizard101Launcher
Step four: click on Wizard101launcher
Step five: Click "End Task" With the Wizard101launcher selected
Step six: Reopen Wizard101
Step Seven: if happens again rinse and repeat!

Hope this helps!

Yep, this is what I do. You can also press ctrl+shift+esc to skip right to the task manager (thereby combining steps one and two) on newer systems. Sometimes ctrl+alt+del takes so much extra time because that fancy-schmancy useless menu needs time to pop up.
