a few months ago I hatched a pet for my storm wizard which failed at mega by giving piercemonger instead of spell proof or defy or accuracy. I didn't see piercemonger in either of the parents talent pools and it came out of no where. between the talents of both parents there are more than enough talents it can get so it shouldn't need to surprise with a talent we didn't want.
