Happy Friday, Wizards! It's Friday, and it is now time for a chat.

Last week, we talked about what you would have liked as a new Wizards (mounts by far, duly noted!). This week, let's look at another angle. Is there anything we do in later worlds that you'd like to see retrofit into earlier ones? For example, we did a lot more cinematic cameras in Polaris and beyond. We've been working to update cameras through the whole story to do that as well. Something like that, perhaps?

Have a wonderful weekend in the sunny summer sun!

I'm glad you asked!

There are some obvious answers like assistants and various camera angles that are possible but would taken plenty of time to integrate. Camera angles might be a possibility, and would be some motivation to start a new wizard.

That said, I think the single biggest thing you could do to improve earlier worlds and help sell the game is to do slight model adjustments and texture updates. That's a huge undertaking, and it might be a long-term plan that involves slight adjustments and texture updates to one world a year. However, when you look at how far the development team has come in turning crazy ramps into actual stairs and harsh turns into smooth, rolling trails, there are plenty of things to be done on the original worlds.

If you really wanted to go nuts, you could remake some of your formulaic street designs in earlier worlds into some of the totally unique location designs you now create for new worlds. As massive an undertaking as this would be, I feel it would better sell the game to new players and help expand Wizard101's audience.

Faction vendors!!! They make badge collecting more worthwhile as well as offering some really nice items.

I would like to see a new class of wizards, earth wizards. They would tie into Bartelby, they have his memories. They could have a mass heal called restore glacial, mass damage would be carbon dioxide. I know this is a whole new story line, but Bart is my favorite character.

have characters walk away when they have to go away like they do in Mirage and Polaris.

The aspect that I see is that higher worlds have harder bosses, but they drop better loot like mounts and stuff. It would be really cool if you can integrate more key bosses in lower worlds with better loot so high levels come back to the first world they started in, to achieve drops from a key boss. As a player of Wizard101 the aspect of collecting mounts/gear/pets are my favorite thing, I think many people like collecting items and the time you put into farming is the best for me because it builds up suspense until I achieve what I want and then I explode with excitement.

I love the new worlds and how much quality you put into them, but I also really like how the enemies do a bunch more spells other than the standard couple of spells each school does copy and pasted for each enemy.

I think it would be really cool if enemies from earlier worlds did more different and unique spells since a problem I personally have in the early-mid worlds is that you rarely see any spell variation, so every enemy from the same school doesn't seem very unique and makes the game a bit boring.

I'd also love to see touch ups on the models and texture from earlier worlds to be at least somewhat more similar to these newer worlds you've added. I think the player models would benefit the most from a makeover!

Finally I'd actually like to see one feature from earlier worlds that you don't see in later worlds anymore. Later worlds should have the cool secret bosses like Mooshu does, and have special cool looking gear to make you want to come back to the world.

Actually my thought is from first worlds to later- You used to find items to pick up in the earlier worlds, and that stopped in the later worlds. I think gamers like to find stuff to pick up, even if they sell it later. Having more of that through out the shire would be fun. Making them random spawn points where people find them etc would be a giant scavenger hunt daily.

Having random items to find, some common some rare; this would be an interesting element to add to the spiral.

Definitely this. The items you can get from them have kept me playing the game even when I've already finished all the story line and side quests. I would love to have things to collect from other worlds by completing badge requirements too.

Hi I'd like to see allies in older worlds follow you around give boosts like how ozzy gave pierce or istar gave accuracy there are so many quest where that could work and it would help out some younger and or newer players in really hard battles have a great summer

Assistants for sure. I would want a tutorial tip about them as early as Unicorn Way, with Lady Oriel sending one of her fairies to help you with Rattlebones.

Portals to other parts of the world. For example, Wizard City and Khrysalis are big places and as such it can be a pain to have to walk from the Commons to Firecat Alley or Haunted Cave or from The Hive to The Shadow Palace (by that I mean once you're in The Hive it's difficult trying to navigate your way around all the enemies to get to The Shadow Palace itself). Having portals to other locations would make navigation easier and cut down on travel times and unintended battles.

Also, more hidden non-skeleton key bosses like Nightwing would be great for all worlds, cause even though the Skeleton Key system is nice, having to hunt for the hidden bosses such as Nightwing in Ravenscar on top of that boss having good rewards makes it all the more satisfying.

I actually misread the question as "Is there anything we do in earlier worlds that you'd like to see retrofit into later ones?", so I will answer it based on how I read it.

Why is there no crafted gear in Polaris and Mirage? I'm begging here, Falmea, as I have been wanting to know why there was a lack of crafted gear ever since November 2015. It would really mean a lot if you responded to this.

Thanks.

I'd like to see: 1. Teleport hubs in Wizard City, Jade Place and another one in Crustacean Empire. Since daily assignments came along, It's time consuming to travel from one end of the world to the other just to do one quest. 2. More humor from those you talk to for example, Dyvim WhiteHart, Librarian Fitzhume and Dworgyn etc... along with mouth movements , blinking eyes and head turning in the 1st and 2nd Arc.

I would love to have temporary companions such as Dvym or Mellori join us on quests in much earlier worlds than Khrysalis. Have a helpful Mander guide us through the Tomb of Storms in Krok, or have a police dog follow us through Newgate - all visitors must be escorted!

There's a lot of possibilities in the lower worlds: a Zebra guide taking us through the Savannah; a fairy helping us free the Fire Elves in Avalon, or a dinosaur shaman giving us hints as we spelunk through the cenotes of Azteca.

Beyond that temporary fun, it would be just amazing to get a permanent companion, like you do for Pirate 101.

Maybe starting the world after Mirage, each school could get their own personal assistant to help them with "Arcanum Business" and follows them for all main-line quests from then on. (And only the main line; the personal assistant is never available to help with side quests because those aren't "official Arcanum business.") The personal assistant can provide a boost to some stats and maybe a may-cast spell here and there, similar to a pet. But they also give us funny asides and companionship in the way that Ozzi and Melori do. For wizards who want a greater challenge, they can set a switch to give their assistant the 'day off' and then go do the hard boss fights alone.

I also like the idea of introducing factions at lower levels. Earning the right to buy rare gear, housing items and even unusual houses in places like Avalon or Azteca would be fantastic!

I like the old worlds the way they are- no retro fit needed. Just freshen up the graphics so they are the same quality as the newer worlds. (Not the way our wizards look- the scenery.)
Instead of a retro fit how about having some more area's in the older area's? Like a new story arc in Mooshu. And more loot that drops or you can find. And more customization of our outfits, pets and houses.

With how many boss cheats prevent the use of universal blades and traps, it would be nice for Balance to have a blade of its own to boost balance spells that do not activate cheats. While Balance is a good support school, it would be nice to be able to use Balance specific blades and traps to use in fights, such as in Malistaire the Undying, that do not trigger cheat removal.
Also on the topic of Castle Darkmoor, it seems to me and a few people I have spoken to that Yevgeny Nightcreeper uses Mystic Colossus and Call of Khrulhu more often then not outside of his cheat casts. For instance, I have had many instances lately where Yevgeny will often cheat cast one of these spells and then use it again the same exact round. While this may be unfortunate happenstance on my part, it seems to be happening more and more that this boss sort of spams these spells in addition to the cheat casts. Thanks!
