A great idea to improve the game!!

Potion crafting, but specifically to school. Allow potions to have duration say for a battle or lenght of time. The heads of each school can teach specific crafts. And allow each potion to improve with each level of crafting achieved. There are potions specific to each school, but also potions teachable to all schools (such as potions that will increase the probability of finding a rare reagents such as diamonds when harvesting Ore, or Water Lilies when harvesting cat tails) or potions that allow a greater chance of crafting a better gem with a higher percentage). Perhaps potions that increase pet experience during a derby by 5, 10 and 15 percent respectively (after feeding) or increase the percentage of a rare pet hatching.

Wizards can either then trade or sell them to other wizards for coins.

For example, a Life Wizard (and only Life Wizards) can craft potions that can be used during combat-Minor Healing, regular healing, and Major healing. Each has a different level (100 for Minor, 250 for regular and 500 for Major healing). Maybe they make a potion that cures poison for the user (only), or temporarily increases their health for a while (call it good health). Or reduces the reduces damage caused by opposite schools by 10% during a specific amount of time (like an hour).

Fire Wizard can craft a spell called Fire Breathing, and also have 3 levels, say warm, hot and inferno, each valid for 100, 200 or 300 respectively. Add it to an attack. Make these potions single use during combat, added onto an attack but not stackable or part of Critical-just an addition to a regular attack. Perhaps a Wall of Fire that provides 10% resistance to Ice spells during a single encounter.

Give Myth a potion that makes them immune to Beguile, or gives 5, 10, or 15 percent armor piercing against Storm.

You get the idea. Allow Wizards to barter potions, trade (like TC) or simply sell them.

So craftable elixirs?

That seems like a good idea, but KI wouldn't be apt on bartering.

Yes, craftable. Not sure KI would be against the bartering. Happens when you trade TC cards, not really that different.

It's just another way to build on the game without reducing items or messing with teh critical factor, or having to keep adding levels for Wizards (just add skills or improvements to gear instead).

These Potions/Elixirs would also have to be "No PvP"

But this is cool. We need more options for crafting. Enough with the various furniture items, we need new ways to make our wizards better and more equipped in battles and crafting such items especially being given by our Professors or even by our good friend, the famous witchdoctor of Zafaria, you guys know who I'm referring to, right? Inganya!
Seems like such a new and bright idea.

How did you come up with this?

In addition though, only one use of a Potion at a time. They shouldn't be allowed to be stacked, wouldn't want to break the game here.

I'm an older player Edward, and a long time player for RPG games for many years. I just looked at ideas from different games, potions being one of them. Expand on the abilities for mounts in outdoor matches, like they did for the mammoth mount by adding a boost to outgoing healing.
